Which Air Force 1 size costs the least? A size 8, typically 9% over the low
A size 12 is the cheapest size on five of the 20 pairs, more than any other size. Sizes 9.5 and 11 are most often the priciest.

On Air Force 1s, a size 8 sits closest to the bottom: it typically costs 9% more than the pair's cheapest size, the smallest gap of any size from 8 to 12. Sizes 10.5 and 11.5 sit furthest from it, at 22% over. You can browse every Air Force 1 in the catalog.
Here's how I got those numbers. I took 20 Air Force 1 pairs, the most-listed men's pairs with prices in nearly every size from 8 to 12. For each pair I found its cheapest size, then checked how much more every other size asks. A 9% premium means a size 8 typically sells for that much above the cheapest size of the same pair. "Typically" is the median: half the pairs have a smaller gap, half a bigger one. Every price is the cheapest new pair with its original box.
Size by size
- Size 8: 9% over the low. It is the cheapest size on four pairs and the priciest on only one.
- Sizes 9 and 12: both at 11%. A 12 is the cheapest size on five pairs, the most of any size, but it is also the priciest on four. So it swings both ways.
- Size 8.5: 16%, and it is the priciest size on zero pairs.
- Sizes 9.5 and 11: 19% and 20%. Each is the priciest size on five pairs, more than any other size.
- Sizes 10.5 and 11.5: 22%, the biggest typical gap.
Examples
Three pairs from the study where the gap between sizes is wide. Every size from 8 to 12 on all three is over retail.
- Off-White x Air Force 1 “Brooklyn”: $1,000 in size 9, $2,855 in size 8. Here the 8 is the priciest, the opposite of the pattern, and that's one size only: the next most expensive is $1,601 in a 10.5.
- Off-White x Air Force 1 “Black”: $841 in size 9.5, $2,000 in size 12. A size 8 is $860.
- Off-White x Air Force 1 “Volt”: $557 in size 9, $1,311 in size 12. A size 8 is $627.
