Privacy Policy

claqa has no payments, and an account is optional: it exists only for price alerts and holds just your email, your alerts and your size. We keep the little we need to run the site and to know which pairs people are interested in. We do not sell personal information.

Your size. When you pick a size, it is saved in a cookie in your browser so prices follow it. If you are signed in, it is also saved to your account, so it follows you to your other devices.

Price alerts and your account. If you set a price alert or sign in, we keep your email address, your alerts (model, size and your price) and when you last signed in. If you continue with Google, Google shares only your email address and confirms that it is verified — we never see your password, name or photo. We use your email only for the sign-in links and alert emails you ask for — no newsletters, no ads — and we never share it. A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in on that device for up to 180 days. To stop abuse of the alert form, we log each email we send, with a shortened network address it was requested from, for 90 days.

Buy button clicks. When you click through to a store, we record the time, the model and size, your browser, the page you came from and a shortened version of your network address (the last part is removed). We use this to count clicks and to keep automated traffic out of affiliate reports.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, device and browser, approximate location, and clicks. These services set their own cookies. Yandex Metrica may record anonymised session replays to help us improve the design.

Server logs. Like any website, our server keeps standard logs (address, time, requested page, browser) for security and troubleshooting. They are deleted on a rolling basis.

Google (Google Analytics) and Yandex (Yandex Metrica) process analytics data on our behalf; they are not used on account pages. Alert emails are sent from our own server — no email service gets your address. When you click a buy button, you leave claqa and the store — currently eBay — receives your visit under its own privacy policy.

We do not sell or rent personal information. Ads on the site are served by Google, which may use cookies as described under Advertising below.

We show ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to claqa and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits.

You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and opt out of other vendors' cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info. Ads never change the prices we show or the order of listings.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, but your size will not be remembered and you cannot stay signed in. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

On your account page you can pause emails, remove alerts or delete your account with everything in it, at any time. Every alert email also has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or ask us not to share it. If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, these rights apply to you under that law. Write to — we answer within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

claqa is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
